Jas Gill: the RECO discipline decision

Jaswinder Singh Gill (registered as Jas Gill) was fined $8,000 by the Real Estate Council of Ontario in a decision released on 31 October 2025. Kept soliciting sellers who were already under contract with another brokerage, and left unsigned notes at a home.

What the decision says

Sellers of a property listed with another brokerage said they felt harassed by constant communication from Gill. Their representative called him several times asking him to stop; the decision records that the requests were ignored and the solicitation continued. Gill denied the allegations.

At a second property, after that listing was terminated, Gill attended the home or caused handwritten notes to be left there on several dates. The notes asked whether the owner was still taking offers and gave a direct phone number.

Neither Gill's name nor his brokerage appeared on those notes, which is the basis for the advertising findings under section 12.1 of the General Regulation.

Because the conduct spanned the change in legislation, the decision contains findings under both the old REBBA Code and the current TRESA Code.

Why this record matters

Two rules meet in this record. A registrant may not pursue a seller who is already represented, and any advertising must identify the registrant and the brokerage. An unsigned note through your door asking if your house is still for sale breaks the second rule on its face.
